Job Description Summary

The Student Success Department houses multiple student success services requiring administrative assistance during working hours. The student front desk specialists are necessary to direct visitor access to other employees, answer central phone lines, transfer calls, schedule appointments, answer questions, give directions and manage the flow of traffic in the area. Most importantly, the front desk specialists serve as the first point of contact for greeting students, staff, faculty, and visitors to the department by modeling superior Saint Leo University student conduct and practicing the core value of community.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Exemplify excellent customer service when responding to emails, phone calls, voicemails and visitors and direct correspondence to the correct individuals in a timely manner
  • Perform administrative duties including mail pick-up and delivery, making copies and other tasks as assigned
  • Have thorough knowledge of all college services, supports, and resources.
  • Manage the check-in system for students meeting with Student Success Coaches, Tutors, Peer Mentors, or the Testing Center.
  • Work with Student Success Coaches on college specific promotional material and initiatives
  • Maintain a neat work environment and practice routine housekeeping tasks
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, materials, and staff discussions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • University Campus student
  • Federal Work Study award required
  • Friendly customer service etiquette and demeanor.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Flexible work schedule for a total of 15-20 hours per week.
