NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Account Executive, Corporate Events & Hospitality based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

This person is responsible for the coordination and execution of various internal and industry stakeholder related events and initiatives.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • The role has a heavy focus on guest management, registration and platform builds and reporting, venue / hotel sourcing, room block management, food & beverage and event logistics, on-site execution, and other related functions.
  • Manage and execute various internal and industry stakeholder related events throughout the year.
  • Participate in the execution of event strategy with project teams for specific internal and industry related tentpole events.
  • Demonstrate event platform software proficiency; including creating events, invite and RSVP reporting, database management, guest lists, basic diagrams and virtual event integration, post-event analytics.
  • Manage guest hotel room blocks and lists, communication processes, and final billing for race weekends, tentpole events, etc.
  • Assist in venue and hotel sourcing, request for proposals, contract negotiations, and execution.
  • In-suite and hospitality management; including event communication, guest list management, pass distribution, catering, rentals, and on-site hosting.
  • Management of food & beverage planning including an understanding of requirements for various event types.
  • Development of event communication, presentations, schedules and itineraries for constituent groups related to the project.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.
  • Percent of travel required: 30-35%; including weekend travel, short notice travel and periodic heavy and/or multi-day travel.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three years of related experience in the sports and/or corporate event industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Although not required, exposure and understanding of the sports and/or NASCAR industry is a plus.
  • Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience in various guest management applications a plus.
  • Creative and forward thinker.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Professional interaction with internal and external executives and guests.
  • Capabilities to perform and retain composure under high pressure situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and to work independently.
  • Genuine passion of events.
  • OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • CMP designation or interest in pursuing the CMP designation a plus.
