Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
Essential Functions:
The System Administrator will work with RHEL 7/8 and MS Windows Domain Server Systems Administration experience who can work in a structured, configuration-controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time software applications and development infrastructure. Qualified candidates will be responsible for evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service. Responsibilities also include the integration and verification of new baselines. Qualified candidates must be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
Principal duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support, maintenance, and documentation of Program software applications
- Jira tickets and administrative support.
- Support onboarding of equipment into the Program tracking and monitoring tools
- Administration of all aspects Windows Domain Services and RHEL Services.
- Make recommendations and act on improving user experience and enterprise system administration.
- Administration of virtualization environments using technologies such as vCenter, ESXi, storage provisioning, including the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of virtual servers and workstations.
- Assist testing new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
- Support multiple networks and ensure necessary IT administration tasks are completed under supervision as required.
- Assist maintaining security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers.
Basic Qualifications for a Systems Administrator:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with 6 years' relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 years' related experience
- Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 1-year related experience
- U.S. citizenship with ability to get a Secret security clearance.
- Minimum of three years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Rocky Linux.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to obtain or have an active IAT Level II certification such as Linux+ or Security+ within 90 days.
- Secret security clearance.
Salary Range: $83,000.00 - $124,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
