The F5 NGINX Business Unit is searching for an experienced User Experience (UX) Designer to lead our team.

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you’ll learn and understand the needs of our users, envision how users should experience our products, and then bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired and thoughtful. You will be designing for system administrators and passionate Developer end users, while helping to rebuild a design team. You will be challenged to understand complex information architecture and interaction problems and craft domain specific designs that will be used by people all over the world. The position requires strong collaboration with engineers, technical writers, and product managers and designers from other product groups.

We expect you to have an online portfolio available for review that highlights your best projects and your role in them.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work cross functionally with teams to build UX strategies, designs, and end user experiences that align with business requirements and user needs.
  • Create task flow wireframes and prototypes that integrate feedback from product teams and end-users.
  • Contribute to overall UX design principles and standards in collaboration with a broader network of F5 UX designers.
  • Provide recommendations for the long-term vision of our products and their user experience.
  • Influence and educate the product teams in user-centered design principles and development processes.
  • Use your fluency with user interface patterns for desktop to function as a subject matter expert to internal and external partners.
  • Perform heuristic evaluations and usability studies if needed.
  • Collaborate with other UX designers when working on a common platform.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and great attitude, enjoy engaging with multiple people and groups to understand and pursue challenges, guiding discussion about design direction and rationale.
  • Coordinate workshops to gather input from various team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Agile software development process.
  • Knowledge of UX process and UX best practices.
  • Experience designing for multiple personas and varying user needs.
  • Skilled at demonstrating thinking across end-to-end across user journeys.
  • Strong expertise across business strategy, product thinking, interaction, visual design, and customer empathy.
  • Strong communicator, collaborator, and advocator
    Ability to accept and provide constructive design feedback.
  • Ability to work at varying altitudes, detailed design specs to strategic visualizations in support of long-term design goals.

Preferred Skills:

  • You know your way around Figma!
  • Knowledge/Experience working with design, prototyping, and collaborative UX tools such as Sketch or inVision, Zeplin, Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Proficiency with HTML/CSS (Knowledge of JS is a plus).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in web design or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in designing UX for Network/Security Management Systems a plus.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $133,902.00 - $200,852.00
