The Office of Student Life is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in student engagement, event planning, and administrative support within a dynamic campus environment. The Student Life Intern will support the Office of Student Life with extra and co-curricular activities, student organizations, and campus engagement. The Student Life Intern will serve as a primary contact for internal and external inquiries, maintaining strong public relations and a professional image for departmental services and events.

  • Event Assistance: Support the planning, marketing, and execution of Student Life events, including setup, coordination with vendors, and on-site management.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Assist in creating and distributing promotional materials for events and programs through various channels, including social media and campus bulletin boards.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling, answering phones, greeting visitors, handling mail, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Student Engagement: Aid in organizing and facilitating student interactions, character appearances, and photo opportunities.
  • Student Organizations: Assist with the startup, registration, and tracking of student organizations, including providing support for their events and activities.
  • Fitness Facilities: Help with the maintenance and upkeep of on-campus fitness facilities.
  • Portal Management: Update and maintain the IvyLife student life portal with event details, marketing posts, and participation records.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, faculty, and student organizations to support and promote programming and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in event planning, marketing, or student organizations is a plus but not required.

  • Currently enrolled Ivy Tech Community College students in the Lafayette region.
