Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing – New Product Launch will lead the successful introduction of new glass container products into full-scale production. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes, equipment, and personnel are prepared for new product launches while maintaining quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The position requires strong collaboration with sales, design engineering, supply chain, and plant operations to ensure seamless integration into existing manufacturing lines.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

·New Product Introduction (NPI): Oversee the manufacturing aspects of launching new glass container products, ensuring they meet customer specifications, production feasibility, and company objectives.

·Manufacturing Readiness: Assess and prepare plant facilities, tooling/equipment, and processes to accommodate new product designs, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency.

·Process Development & Optimization: Work with engineering teams to refine forming, annealing, and coating processes for new product launches while ensuring efficiency and quality.

·Trial Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee production trials (sampling and qualification) for new products, troubleshooting issues and refining processes before full-scale production.

·Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all new product manufacturing processes comply with customer requirements and internal SOPs/TOPs, and internal quality standards.

·Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, mold design, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transitions from design through production.

·Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential risks in production processes, including glass defects, mold issues, and line inefficiencies, and implement proactive solutions.

·Equipment & Tooling Coordination: Work with batch and furnace, mold design, and engineering teams to determine any new tooling, mold, or process adjustments needed for new product launches.

·Training & Workforce Readiness: Ensure plant personnel are adequately trained on new processes, equipment modifications, and quality expectations.

·Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to leadership on launch status, challenges, and performance metrics.

 

 

 

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field. 

- 8+ years in manufacturing leadership within the glass container industry, with experience in new product introduction, process engineering, or production management.

• Deep understanding of glass forming, annealing, and finishing processes.

• Strong knowledge of mold design, forming machines, and production line efficiencies.

• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive complex projects to completion.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
