Allegro Microsystems, LLC (ALGM) is a leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing high-performance semiconductors. Allegro's innovative sensor and power IC solutions serve high-growth applications within the automotive and industrial markets. We are looking for a System Engineer with magnetics sensors experience, ideally in our Shanghai office.
 

SUMMARY

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for strategic customer support, develop demonstration platforms, reference designs and other written collateral to solve customer system problems for all the Allegro sensor IC product lines like current, position and speed sensors. You will work closely with Allegro system engineers, marketing personnel, design/test engineers, field sales and field application engineers, in supporting industry leading customers.

Candidate should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, be highly motivated to drive actions and assignments to closure and drive the business in strategic focus sub-segments within automotive and industrial markets. This role will interact with field application engineers and customers on a regular basis and involves domestic travel within China. Candidate should have a passion for building relationship and develop collaborations with marketing, sales, FAEs, distribution, partners and the various sensor and power IC product lines to expand our SAM and grow the revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide systems and application engineering support to customers working with our sales and field applications engineers.

  • Work with other applications engineers and marketing to develop collateral to outline the value proposition and use of our products in customer applications.

  • Perform teardowns of customer products to gain better understanding of customer application requirements and develop system level knowledge.

  • Build hardware and software reference designs and demos that will help our customers speed up their development time and effort.

  • Engage with lead customers to identify system-level requirements, formulate partnership strategies and drive deeper technical engagements.

  • Champion the generation of technical notes, application notes, tools and simulations required to make customer evaluation and development with our products easy and simple.

  • Champion the evaluation of new silicon, including the design of hardware and software for product evaluation on the bench.

  • Interact with and provide guidance to product marketing and technical teams to create differentiated products and solutions for the target markets.

  • Focus on timely customer support for superior customer experience and outcome.

  • Assist with special projects, corporate events, tradeshows, webinar, etc.

  • Focus on execution and results with a high standard for performance.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering

  • 5+ years’ experience in semiconductor industry

  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and voltage and current meters

  • Ability to design and build basic hardware such as printed circuit boards, data acquisition systems, custom cables as well as hand soldered application boards.

  • Programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++

  • Magnetic simulation skill with 3D Maxwell or COMSOL.

  • High voltage laboratory experience is desirable.

  • Clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration

  • Experience developing partner networks and/or development communities.

  • Ability to travel to visit customers within China.
