Position Summary...

The Manager, Supply Chain Optimization role is that of an internal consultant who to provide strong technical, written and verbal analysis and support in conjunction with leading initiatives that drive our Supply Chain to be more efficient, productive, cost effective and service oriented. The position will involve a very high standard of understanding of supply chain management and its implementation in the company, data extraction, creation and problem solving, with the added requirement of being able to handle the complexity and conflict which surrounds supply chain optimization.

What you'll do...

1. Detailed analytical studies into all aspects of supply chain optimization topics including channel optimization and economic ordering quantities.

2. Close and strong relationship with the Network Design, Engineering, merchant & replenishment teams to drive collaborative and aligned improvements.

3. Strong, professional and clear communication skills to the replenishment, logistics, store operations, merchandising and vendor communities.

4. Ability to manage complex and conflicted feedback regards optimizing suggestions. Ability to react and cope with a fast-paced environment and changes to the status quo and existing detailed plans.

5. Lead and manage cross-functional projects through to operational ownership. Manage and analyze benefits through the project life cycle.

6. Forge and drive international relationships to ensure collaboration, lack of duplication and joined effort. Ability to influence internal and external relationships to execute optimization projects from Minimum Order Quantities, Channel Realignments and Break Pack approvals.

7. Provide ongoing technical, systematic and consultancy advice and support to the engines of the supply chain systems, both legacy and future. Develop and nurture relationships with Walmart International community to leverage best practices and incorporate into market.

8. Continuously analyze utilization and capacity statistics to drive the correct housing for each product in our network, and drive change and solutions with all parties.

9. Develop and Enhance systems and processes to drive user-friendly analytics, decision making and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Competent in performing extracting and preparing data for analysis and highly skilled with spread sheets
  • Familiar with basic SQL and comfortable with querying data using platforms like Google Big Query
  • Skills to conduct detailed analysis and create data models using different tool (Tableau, Power BI, Access, etc)
  • Comfortable working with technology teams and data experts within and outside Walmart
  • Engineering or Project Management certification is an asset
