The Mission Operations Division has an opening for a Chief Engineer in San Diego, CA for the Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N). The DCGS-N is the U.S. Navy’s ISR&T enterprise network installed on aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, and ashore sites. This is an exciting opportunity where the successful candidate will lead a team of engineering professionals and domain experts in the technical evolution of the DCGS-N system using modern Agile methodologies in a DevSecOps environment. Technologies to be incorporated include cloud migration, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and modern cybersecurity approaches.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as the lead engineer for the DCGS-N program over the full lifecycle to include engineering, integration and deployment. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, architecture design, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. They will be responsible for managing the overall work effort and products of the engineering staff. Support to business development and proposal development will also be required at times. Some travel and shipboard visits will also be required.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in a computer science or engineering related discipline.
12 years of engineering and/ or software development experience including use of modern technologies and methodologies.
5 years of Navy ISR related experience.
Experience articulating complex technical concepts to customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives, both orally and in writing.
Active TS/SCI clearance
