The Energy and Environment (EE) group within Guidehouse’s Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure (ES&I) practice, provides technical and market analysis, research, program management, and strategic planning and analysis support related to emerging energy efficient and low-carbon building technologies, policies, and programs for the public sector. The EE strategy and analysis team supports DOE offices, national laboratories, NGOs, and state/regional energy organizations in strategic planning, research and development roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, technology deployment and scaling programs, building decarbonization analysis, data collection/modeling, and other programmatic and policy support related to energy efficient and emerging low-carbon building technologies. As a Consultant I in our EE strategy and analysis team, you will support the evaluation, investigation, and analysis of emerging technologies and market transformation strategies that can improve the overall efficiency and decarbonization of buildings. Other Consultant I project work may include market and technology assessments, data collection and analysis/modeling, developing research reports, and supporting DOE program development. The responsibilities of this Consultant I staff level position include gaining expertise in energy efficiency and building decarbonization topics and cultivating and maintaining working relationships with governmental clients and industry stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities May Include:

  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on building and energy-related technologies, programs, and activities

  • Researching and data collection on utility and state energy efficiency programs

  • Assessing emerging building technologies and analyzing energy technology trends

  • Conducting market research and analyzing market trends

  • Performing data analyses and model development; data collection; spreadsheet creation and data management

  • Planning and conducting stakeholder workshops and stakeholder interviews including states, localities, manufacturers, researchers, and energy efficiency organizations

  • Designing strategic planning frameworks and assisting with planning processes and project management

  • Preparing reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other deliverables for clients

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in 2024 and graduate by Summer of 2025)

  • Strong interest, experience, and/or coursework related to energy efficiency, decarbonization strategies/technologies, sustainability and/or advanced building technologies

  • Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work

  • Capable of regularly using close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare, analyze and transmit data accordingly

  • Ability to work in an office environment

  • Currently reside in or ability to relocate to within 50 miles of the Arlington, Boston or New York Guidehouse offices

  • This role is a Hybrid role which will require you to go into a GH Office as needed or on occasion

  • Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable amount of miles of a Guidehouse office

The annual salary range for this position is $54,300.00-$81,500.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
