Cleveland Clinic Florida’s expert caregivers are committed to helping patients have the best possible pregnancy and labor and delivery experience. Our caring and skilled OB/GYN physicians work alongside nurses and midwives to care for thousands of mothers and babies each year. This team approach has created very low cesarean section rates. We believe in providing a calming environment when it’s time to give birth and keeping babies close to their mothers after birth.
By joining the Labor and Delivery team at Indian River Hospital as an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, babies, and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This is a dedicated, compassionate team to be a part of, full of numerous opportunities to learn and grow within a well-respected healthcare organization.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Labor and Delivery experience
