As a Field Engineering Business Operations Lead you will be a key business partner to the technical field organization, working closely with teams across Solution Architects (SA), Post-sales Customer Solutions Architects (CSAs), and Professional Services (PS). You will help drive the success of these teams by defining, designing, and delivering critical metrics and operational reports, ensuring that the technical field leadership has the insights they need to lead efficiently.

You will also manage essential tools, such as Salesforce, to track technical engagement, productivity metrics, and operational programs aimed at increasing the overall efficiency and productivity of the technical team. This role is critical in managing fiscal year planning, operational cadence, and strategic initiatives that contribute to the success and growth of the business.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Serve as a business partner to the technical field teams across SA, CSA, and PS teams and assist in daily operational activities
  • Define, design, and deliver comprehensive key metrics and operational reports for technical field leadership at all levels from executive leadership to individual contributors
  • Manage and oversee Salesforce to track technical engagement, KPIs, and overall team performance
  • Analyze and improve pipeline stage conversion rates by aligning technical team activities to key deal milestones, identifying drop-off points, and implementing targeted initiatives to continuously improve conversion through technical stages
  • Design and lead core programs to drive improvements in technical team efficiency and productivity
  • Define, adopt, and continuously refine the technical sales process in partnership with field and sales leadership, ensuring consistent execution across the technical organization and evolving the process as the business scales
  • Manage fiscal year planning activities, including headcount and capacity planning, coverage models, quotas, and operational cadence processes like forecasting and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) in support of technical field leadership
  • Act as a key partner to technical leadership across SA, CSA, and PS teams to drive customer growth and consumption
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to drive organizational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with business strategies

You are a good fit if you have:

  • Worked asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations management, field engineering, or a similar role within a technical organization
  • Strong understanding of productivity tools (Salesforce) for managing field operations and tracking key metrics
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to define and deliver business insights
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making across teams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership at all levels

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and where applicable, performance-based pay. In select locations (including Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Austin, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Seattle), an alternate range may apply, as specified below.

- The typical starting salary range for this role is:
$169,000 - $241,000 USD

- The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed is:
$188,000 - $268,000 USD
