Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Finance in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is now accepting applications for a full or part time term faculty position at the rank of either Lecturer, Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor, or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice. This position will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in Finance beginning Fall semester, August 2026. Anticipated course load is four courses per semester (i.e., a 4-4 teaching load). Applications for a part-time position with course load of two courses per semester will also be considered. This position will consist primarily of in-person classroom instruction on the Ames, IA campus, with the possibility of some online course delivery. The successful candidate will additionally contribute to departmental service activities. The initial term length will be for one-year ending May 15, 2027, with the possibility for renewal.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or closely related field

  • Qualified candidates must meet the college’s standards to be qualified under AACSB accreditation standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior collegiate teaching experience of at least five years in finance or closely related field

  • Professional industry experience (e.g., financial services, corporate finance)

  • Professional credentials in finance (e.g., CFA)

  • PhD in Finance or closely related field

  • Solid technological skills to support use of online instructional tools
