The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer–Test & Verification to join the P-8A Mission Systems Software team located in Kent, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
As a Software Test Engineer, you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long term potential for career growth. Additionally, the software test engineer will conduct (with the possibility to lead) the testing of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity supporting software verification in multiple areas such as sensors, communications, network, and weapons. Systems. This software supports both domestic and international customers and is developed using the Agile software process.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
Participates in partnering with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
Supports designing test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
Contributes to the set up and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
Supports executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes.
Contributes to providing test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Experience in either C++, or Java
Experience working in Linux / Unix environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Familiarity or experience with Agile software development
Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, etc.
Experience with software/hardware testing
Knowledge of mission systems
