Why is this role important:

Reporting directly to the Inventory and Logistic, is responsible for inventory management and supports procurement for Central Pharmacy Services located in Burnaby.  The Inventory Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for carrying out daily inventory task related to inventory management, including, but not limited to placing orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, investigating discrepancies. They will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining MMS by performing tasks like Holding tanks, updating UPCs, utilizing suggested orders and reviewing DIN equivalent reports.

What You will Do

  • Unpack and receive pharmacy totes inside the pharmacy in a secure environment.
  • Put away received pharmacy inventory in the appropriate location in accordance with the established workflow.
  • Ensure stock rotation is completed, the expired product is removed from the shelf, and it is returned in accordance with standard operating procedures. Update equivalent reports.
  • Perform cycle counts in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carry out daily inventory task, including, but not limited to placing Orders, receiving orders, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining the MMS system related to the stocks management and control.
  • Order and maintain non-prescription merchandise in the dispensary, including stock rotation and the management of expired product.
  • Reviews operations initiatives to determine inventory needs, taking into account current on hand inventory and the required lead times to ensure Central Pharmacy Services can execute on initiatives.
  • Partners with operational site and other teams to ensure effective resolution of all inventory related issues.
  • Maintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principles.
  • Manage wastage control, expiry control and returns in accordance with established disposal protocol (e.g. Stericycle One Box or return to the vendor).
  • Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided, supporting the Quality and Compliance Team.
  • Management of preferred generic produce DSP changes, reviewing DIN, and UPC changes. Identify drug appearance changes effectively and accurately.
  • Maintain Overstock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of all products, perform cycle count, track, and communicate low stock and out of stock situations according to pharmacy procedures.
  • Review flip daily for inventory related communication, including but not limited to Product Shortages and Availability Report, New Generics and Dedicated Supplier Products, and Product Appearance Changes.
  • Identify drug appearance changes effectively and accurately.

What you bring :

  • Post Secondary Education with 1-2 years in Pharmacy or Inventory.
  • Creative problem solver and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy while adapting to multiple priorities
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Practical written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Able to work holidays and some weekends
  • Flexibility with shift timing

Shift: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (subject to change)

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$17.40 - $23.65 / 17,40$ - 23,65$ (per hour / de l’heure)
