The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in our GES Global Engineering Services division.

This Catering Coordinator opportunity serves as the primary point of contact for all catering-related services, including reservations, equipment setup, menu development, and event coordination. This role involves direct communications with internal clients, supporting site logistics, and ensuring a smooth execution of catering operations.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serve as the main liaison for catering requests, bookings, equipment setup, and food preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders for a seamless catering experience.
  • Coordinate logistics, including setup, breakdown, and on-site issue resolution.
  • Adhere to all company safety and risk management protocols.
  • Actively participate in other areas of the food service operation when needed, such as cashiering or serving food items.
  • Oversee the web-based catering platform to track incoming orders and compile monthly billing data.
  • Coordination and purchasing of items for all catering needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of high-volume catering experience in a corporate dining setting.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Exhibit maturity, good judgement, and professional behavior.
  • Maintains high standards of cleanliness and work area presentation.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling to accommodate off-hour requests.
  • Must be able to lift to 35lbs, bend, twist, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and various computer-based software applications.
  • Possess knowledge of food production and preparation, including proficient knife skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow standardized recipes and preparation guidelines. 
  • High school diploma or GED.

The base pay for this position is

$16.45 – $32.85/hour
