About the Opportunity:

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) as the Nurse Unit Manager – Day Surgery and Endoscopy.   In this role you will provide high quality patient care through efficient and effective management of the human and material resources of the Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit. You will provide effective leadership and coordination, facilitating a customer focused culture, upholding the mission of St Vincent’s Health Australia and providing expert managerial guidance to the multidisciplinary team and facilitate the practice of nursing staff within the service.

Things that work for us:

  • Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse

  • Previous experience in a Nurse Unit Manager role or similar

  • Ensure all practices are consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Service and relevant professional practice and ethical standards and guidelines

  • Ensure clinical practice is consistent with the standards of ACHS, professional and ethical standards and guidelines.

  • Manage and coordinate the operational and strategic services of the unit, including managing skill mix, WHPPD, education and development of staff, recruitment and performance management

  • Provide clinical leadership to ensure patients and family care is managed and coordinated effectively across the continuum of care
