Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Quality Control (Manual Testing) to verify the functionality, performance, and quality of software applications. This role involves executing manual tests on web and/or mobile applications, developing detailed test cases and test plans, and collaborating with development teams to ensure defect resolution. The ideal candidate will bring a thorough understanding of testing methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to quality assurance, contributing to the delivery of high-quality software products that meet organizational standards and client expectations.
Software Requirements
Required:
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, practices, and standards
Experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications
Ability to write clear, detailed, and effective test cases and test plans
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA or similar for defect tracking and reporting
Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
Preferred:
Experience with test management tools like Zephyr or TestRail
Basic knowledge of automation tools for future integration (e.g., Selenium)
Exposure to performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter)
Overall Responsibilities
Conduct manual testing of web and mobile applications to ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
Develop comprehensive test cases and detailed test plans based on functional and technical requirements.
Identify, document, and track defects and issues in a timely manner, providing detailed defect reports.
Collaborate with development teams to prioritize, resolve, and verify defect fixes.
Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups, providing updates on testing progress and issues.
Perform regression, integration, and exploratory testing to ensure product stability.
Contribute to improving testing processes, documentation, and quality standards.
Support quality assurance activities during releases, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
Stay updated with industry best practices, testing techniques, and emerging tools.

Experience working in agile teams, supporting sprint activities, and delivering quality products within deadlines.
Industry experience in finance, banking, or other regulated sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
Support pathways include extensive manual testing experience with additional exposure to automation concepts.
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and execute test cases for web and mobile applications based on functional specifications.
Log, prioritize, and monitor defects, ensuring timely resolution and regression testing.
Collaborate regularly with developers, product managers, and UX teams on feature validation.
Review test cases, provide feedback, and suggest process improvements.
Support release testing and participate in sprint ceremonies for continuous delivery.
Conduct exploratory testing to identify potential issues beyond formal test scripts.
Assist in process documentation, test plans, and defect reports for audit and compliance.
Stay informed on new testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to continually enhance testing quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least 5 years of manual testing experience, particularly with web and mobile applications.
Strong understanding of testing lifecycle, methodologies, and defect management.
Experience with test management tools like JIRA; familiarity with automation tools is a plus.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
