Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector has an immediate need for a Principal Manufacturing Business Operations (MBO) / Senior Principal Manufacturing Business Operations (MBO) member to join our Operations Business Facing Organization (OBFO) Team located in Linthicum, MD.

The MBO team member must be a self-starter, self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment. You must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills; a good problem-solving mindset; and the ability to present manufacturing cost metrics visibility at internal meetings to include all levels of management.

What You’ll get to Do: 

  • Supporting and managing the Operations Project Managers with proposals, baselining, and CEAC processes.

  • Supporting the OPMs for achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements aligned to the business division.

  • Facilitating internal meetings to review and support manufacturing cost and schedule data by providing support and maintenance for the Manufacturing Labor Performance (MPL) tool.

  • Supporting and maintaining the operations tools and templates.

  • Leading or participating on a product team, responsible for Design to Cost Data (DTC)

  • Proposal support providing manufacturing data running Labor Factor Developer (LFD) and utilizing the Factor Labor Estimating tool (FLE) working closely with pricing and estimating.

  • Support Unit Cost data for managing program cost.

This position may be filled as a Principal or a Senior Principal based on the qualifications below.

This is not a Manager job. This is an individual contributor role.

Basic Qualifications: Level 3 - Principal

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience or 3 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree

  • Prior experience in leading people and/or project management

  • CAM, Control Account Management, EVMS experience

  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • Manufacturing experience and an understanding of standards and cost estimating ratios

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and currently possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Full Secret clearance prior to starting

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience or 6 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree

  • Prior experience in leading people and/or project management

  • CAM, Control Account Management, EVMS experience

  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point

  • Experience supporting proposal activity and working with pricing and estimating

  • Manufacturing experience and an understanding of standards and cost estimating ratios

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and currently possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Full Secret clearance prior to starting

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Manufacturing

  • Active Secret clearance

Salary Range: $98,500.00 - $143,600.00Salary Range 2: $119,200.00 - $178,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
