Position Summary:
The role is responsible for managing and delivering complex disbursement and payment-related projects in a timely manner and plays a key role in supporting system implementations, banking and ERP migrations, and payment process improvements. The position requires strong end-to-end knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, with a specific focus on payment execution, controls, and related banking activities. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the full P2P cycle, solid accounting principles, and hands-on experience with multiple ERP platforms and banking systems. The individual will be assigned to defined projects or fixed-term initiatives that address operational needs, mitigate risk, or drive efficiencies within the disbursement and payment landscape, while also being expected to support operational activities as required to ensure continuity and stability of daily payment execution, including the review and approval of payments on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact for payment execution–related projects, initiatives, and process changes.
Participate in and drive system implementations, migrations, process improvements and bank-related changes impacting payment processes.
Support migration activities from a process perspective, including standardizing incoming tasks and integrating them into harmonized GBS EMEA processes.
Collaborate closely with Treasury and cross-functional P2P and Finance teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of initiatives.
Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, standardization, risk mitigation, and control enhancement.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on P2P processes, payment policies, controls, and systems.
Serve as the primary escalation point for payment-related queries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and high service levels.
Manage and oversee disbursement activities, including payment runs, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant vendor payments.
Review and approve payments on a daily basis in accordance with internal controls and approval matrices.
Ensure VAT and tax-related payments are executed accurately and on time.
Maintain oversight of payment execution performance, including quality of payment runs and issue management.
Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of AP and payment systems and resolving system issues.
Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
Perform compliance and investigative activities, including exceptional payment reviews and root cause analysis.
Support the Disbursement Manager and Team Leads with ad hoc reporting and operational insights.
Facilitate training and onboarding for new team members and provide ongoing functional support.
Perform other duties as assigned to support disbursement operations and strategic initiatives.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
Proven experience in Accounts Payable or a related finance role, with a focus on Procure To Pay (P2P) processes.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in AP software and ERP systems
Familiarity with Wallstreet inhouse bank system is preferred
Background in Payment and Disbursement operations is preferred
Fluent in English is required, both written and spoken
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of payment methods with the ability to perform root cause analysis and drive process improvements.
Deep understanding of Accounts Payable and end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
Hands-on experience with ERP and payment systems, including SAP, Oracle, Navision, QAD, JD Edwards (E1), and Wallstreet.
Experience working in high-volume, multi-entity, and multi-currency processing environments.
Solid understanding of audit requirements, SOX controls, and VAT regulations.
Previous participation in projects, system implementations, or process migrations is preferred.
Strong organizational and planning skills with a focus on risk mitigation, prioritization, and deadline management.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a diligent and quality-focused mindset.
Professional and customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
