About the Role
The Associate Director, Heath Applications role is responsible for providing expert guidance, technical oversight, and solution assurance for clinical and healthcare applications across the healthcare business units. The role focuses on IT due diligence, technology assessments, architectural alignment, implementation, migration and stabilisation of mission critical healthcare applications.
As a subject-matter expert, the role will work closely with Group Enterprise Architecture, Group Information Security, IT vendors and Group Health Provisioning stakeholders, including clinical and business teams, to ensure that all technology solutions are robust, secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with Group Technology Enterprise standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct IT due diligence on healthcare entities and provide expert insights on technology risks, gaps and value-creation opportunities.
- Participate in technology and vendor evaluations, offering technical, and architectural recommendations.
- Ensure technology and data architecture alignment with Group Enterprise Architecture standards and healthcare-specific principles
- Assess clinical and business technology solutions to ensure regulatory, security and healthcare architecture compliance
- Support sourcing, assessment, and implementation and migration of clinical and digital applications.
- Contribute to establishing IT operating policies and governance, for health business units.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of new IT applications implementation, ensuring delivery quality, stability and readiness for clinical operations
Minimum Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, health Informatics, Engineering or related discipline
- Relevant professional certifications are advantageous, such as Enterprise or Solution Architecture, Cloud Platforms, Information Security / Risk, Healthcare IT or Health Informatics certifications (where applicable)
- 8 to 12 years of IT experience with significant exposure to healthcare or health-services technology environments
- Proven experience leading or assuring clinical and digital healthcare applications such as, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) / Electronic Heath Record (EHR), Hospital Information System (HIS), telehealth platforms, clinic management systems, patient portals or healthcare data platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in solution assessment, IT due diligence, and end-to-end vendor evaluation.
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture and healthcare, interoperability standards such as Health Level 7(HL7), Fast healthcare interoperability Resources (FHIR) Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM), with a strong understanding of secure data exchange and healthcare information security practices
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clinical and business audiences
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess complex healthcare technology landscapes.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain delivery discipline.
