Java Developer, Assistant Vice President

As part of the Alternate Investments GTS team, we are looking for Java developer as part of a team located globally that designs, develops and manages java based applications for Hedge funds and private markets clients.

Role:

- Work in an agile team environment, able to collaborate with other engineers and members of other departments.

- Work on jobs of diverse scope and complexity requiring independent action and decision-making.

- Develop applications using object-oriented principles, write well designed testable code.

- Work with and have a strong understanding of JavaScript frameworks

- Work with complex queries to display out on the webpages as meaningful outputs

- Design and develop Web services

- Understanding of HTML5/CSS coding standards and best practices

- Ability to diagnose and solve problems with existing software

Skills:

- Proficiency in Java, with a good understanding of its ecosystems

- Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Patterns and Concepts

- Ability to write clean, readable Java code

- Basic knowledge of JVM (Java Virtual Machine), its drawbacks, weaknesses, and workarounds

- Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests 

- In-depth knowledge of code versioning tools, for instance, Git

- Understanding of building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc

- Expertise in continuous integration

- Web Technologies like HTMLJavaScriptCSSJQuery

- Multithreading and Synchronization
