Role Mandate: 

The Senior Space Planning Analyst (SSPA) works with the Manager, Space Planning (SPM) to design, build and maintain merchandise planograms. The SSPA is responsible for ensuring that planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions and are consistent with category, banner, and corporate strategies, visual merchandising standards, and planogram optimization targets. 

The SSPA is accountable for ensuring planograms meet high quality standards and can be executed without issues with the customer experience in mind. By working collaboratively with all stakeholders, the analyst will ensure that planogram layouts will enable profitable sales growth, drive operational excellence, and continuously improve in-stock availability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with SPM to understand the scope of each planogram release to successfully build planograms. 
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of planograms ensuring the accuracy of images, dimensions, fixtures and assortment updates.
  • Attend touchpoint meetings to ensure all critical milestones are being met in a timely fashion to keep the release on track. 
  • Capture planograms set up at the lab by scanning and imaging products into space planning software.
  • Utilize tools available (Planogram Generator) to ensure that planograms are built in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Ensure portfolio of planograms supports the category strategy and adheres to the highest quality standards, using established guardrails for each format/banner.
  • Reviews all aspects of data accuracy for the planogram builds.
  • Develop a good understanding of product attributes and merchandising style for effective placement of product on shelf.
  • Perform planogram reporting and quality checks to ensure standards are met. 
  • Supporting the development and refinement of best practices to be implemented within the Space Planning Department by working with the appropriate stakeholders within the organization
  • Assist with Kick Off meetings at the start of a planogram release to develop a strong understanding of Category format/strategy
  • Work with large amounts of data to evaluate, draw conclusions, and provide insights and recommendations to the SPM/ Space Planning Team on opportunities to optimize planogram performance and correct any data integrity issues
  • Adhoc Projects: Assist SPM with a broad range of projects to meet ongoing business needs.
  • Provide data, reporting and additional support required to the Space Planning Team on various department initiatives.
  • Be an agile and effective team player who engages well and facilitates workload sharing within team.

 

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary education in Business or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge and high proficiency in Excel and Power Point are mandatory, Access database experience would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to manipulate, manage and pull insights from large sets of data from multiple sources in an effective manner
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Capable of working in a fast pace and deadline focused environment
  • Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to conduct store visits and travel to planogram labs (within GTA)
  • Work independently to multi-task and prioritize to meet established deadlines
  • Be self-motivated, with a positive outlook and growth mindset that encompass the Loblaw CORE values (CARE, OWNERSHIP, RESPECT, EXCELLENCE).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with good communication skills, (oral and written), and a high level of confidence
