As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical direction and architectural design of bespoke software solutions tailored to specific business needs. This role requires guiding and supporting teams throughout the design and delivery phases, ensuring that development standards are maintained. The lead actively monitors code quality, scalability, and performance to align with organizational goals, while fostering collaboration and innovation within the team to drive successful project outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Lead design and implementation of TCU DCM feature applications including OTA client remote vehicle services V2X cooperative driving and fleet data management
2. Define application architecture for connected vehicle services including event driven messaging pub sub data streaming and client server request patterns
3. Drive V2X application development including cooperative awareness message CAM encoding decoding DENM event notification and SPAT MAP intersection management
4. Lead cloud integration design including vehicle data pipeline architecture real time event processing and bidirectional cloud to vehicle command delivery
5. Implement security protocol stack including TLS 1 3 mutual authentication certificate lifecycle automation SCEP EST and Sec OC in vehicle message authentication
6. Mentor junior engineers in connected vehicle architecture protocol implementation and ASPICE documentation practices
7. Interface with OEM connectivity and cloud platform teams for feature requirements clarification integration strategy and milestone sign off
8. Lead regression testing and CI CD integration for connected vehicle application modules including automated protocol tests and cloud API validation
9. Drive compliance with UNECE R155 cybersecurity requirements and ISO SAE 21434 security by design for connected vehicle features
10. Contribute to technical proposals and demo development for new connected vehicle programmer engagements with OEM and Tier 1 customers
11. Champion reusable software design including connectivity middleware libraries V2X message codecs and cloud protocol abstraction layers


Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Must Have Advanced C C and Python with connected vehicle application development experience in telematics or V2X domain
2. Must Have In depth experience with MQTT QoS 0 1 2 MQTT 5 0 REST g RPC and Protobuf CBOR for telematics communication
3. Must Have Experience with V2X expertise including ETSI C ITS CAM DENM SPAT MAP CPM C V2X LTE V2X PC5 Uu and SAE J2945 standards
4. Must Have Experience with OTA update framework design including Optane protocol A B partition update package signing and rollback strategy
5. Must Have Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity including TLS 1 3 PKI HSM integration Sec OC and ISO SAE 21434 secure design
6. Must Have Experience with cloud IoT platform integration including AWS IoT Core Azure IoT Hub or GCP IoT for connected vehicle data
7. Must Have Understanding of AUTOSAR Adaptive Com Manager and Communication Management for V2X and telematics service management
8. Good to Have Experience with 5G NR V2X PC5 Uu 3GPP Rel 16 for next generation cooperative ADAS V2X features
9. Good to Have Knowledge of COVESA VSS and vehicle data abstraction services for standardized connected vehicle data access
10. Good to Have Familiarity with ETSI C ITS security framework including certificate authority CA enrolment authority EA and AACP architecture
11. Good to Have Exposure to Multi Access Edge Computing MEC for low latency V2X application server-side processing
12. Good to Have Understanding of fleet management platform integration including telematics backend vehicle state management and OEM portal APIs
13. Good to Have Experience with virtual validation at scale including cloud based ADAS simulation and scenario database management
14. Good to Have Familiarity with ASAM Open SCENARIO Open DRIVE and ODS standards for test ecosystem interoperability
