ALLIANCE OPERATIONS, AWS 

Focus: Partner Program Operations & Compliance

The Opportunity 

VML Enterprise Solutions is scaling our AWS alliance program operations to support accelerating growth. We're seeking an operationally excellent manager to run the systems, processes, and compliance that keep our AWS alliance engine running—so sales and solution teams can focus on clients and partners. 

This role is the operational backbone of our AWS alliance program. When AWS Partner Central data is accurate, partner cash funding flows, SCA consumption is tracked, and compliance requirements are met—that's because of you. You will be the critical link between VML account teams, finance, and AWS partner operations. 

 

Role Summary 

This is an operations and program administration role for VML's AWS alliance. You manage the infrastructure that enables AWS alliance teams to succeed—CRM integration, funding administration, compliance tracking, and coordination across account teams and finance. 

Accountability Model: Operational metrics. Success is measured by compliance rates, funding secured, data quality, SCA tracking accuracy, and program delivery. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

1. AWS CRM Integration & Data Management (35%) 

  • Manage AWS Partner Central integration and ensure accurate opportunity registration 
  • Maintain CRM data quality for AWS-related opportunities and pipeline 
  • Ensure proper partner attribution and co-sell tracking in VML systems 
  • Produce and maintain accurate AWS sales and pipeline dashboards 
  • Generate regular performance reports for alliance leadership 
  • Coordinate data reconciliation between VML CRM and AWS Partner Central 
  • Support AWS QBR preparation with accurate data and reporting 

 

2. Partner Cash Funding Administration (30%) 

  • Submit and track AWS partner funding requests (MDF, POC credits, incentive programs) 
  • Coordinate funding requests with VML account teams and finance 
  • Ensure timely submission and proper documentation for all funding requests 
  • Track funding utilization and report on ROI 
  • Navigate AWS partner incentive programs and maximize funding opportunities 
  • Coordinate with finance on funding tracking and revenue recognition 

 

3. SCA Consumption Tracking & Compliance (20%) 

  • Support Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) consumption tracking and reporting 
  • Monitor progress against SCA commitments and flag gaps 
  • Coordinate with account teams to ensure consumption is properly attributed 
  • Maintain documentation for SCA compliance and reporting 
  • Track and report on partner scorecard metrics and tier progression 
  • Ensure VML meets all AWS partner program requirements and deadlines 

 

4. Program Administration & Coordination (15%) 

  • Administer AWS partner tools, portals, and collaboration platforms 
  • Coordinate with VML account teams on AWS-related operational requests 
  • Manage AWS alliance calendar, key dates, and renewal timelines 
  • Support internal teams with AWS program questions and troubleshooting 
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities 
  • Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews 

 

Team Leadership & Management 

 

Accountability: Accountable for operational outcomes. May hold direct management responsibility for small team. 

Leadership Expectations: Coordinate across alliance teams, finance, and IT without direct authority. May supervise junior operations staff. Drive process improvement and operational excellence across the alliance program. 

Management Scope: May manage 1-2 coordinators or analysts; primarily an individual contributor with cross-functional coordination responsibilities.

Qualifications 

Required 

  • 4-7+ years in partner operations, sales operations, or program management 
  • CRM systems experience (Salesforce preferred) and strong reporting skills 
  • Experience with partner portal administration and data management 
  • Detail and process orientation with strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders 
  • Strong Excel/data analysis capabilities 
  • Background in Global Systems Integrator (GSI), agency, or professional services environment 

 

Preferred 

  • Experience with AWS Partner Central and AWS partner programs 
  • Understanding of AWS partner funding mechanisms (MDF, incentives, co-marketing) 
  • Familiarity with SCA or similar consumption commitment structures 
  • CRM/analytics certifications (Salesforce, Tableau) 
  • Experience with partner compliance and audit processes 
  • GSI/agency partner operations background 
  • Bachelor's degree  

 

Role Positioning 

This is the operational engine that keeps the AWS alliance program running—not a quota-carrying seller, relationship manager, or client-facing role. 

You will be the reason AWS data is accurate, funding flows, and compliance is maintained. You will enable alliance teams to focus on growth instead of administration. And you will build the operational foundation that scales with VML's AWS alliance ambitions. 

Your operational excellence directly enables AWS alliance success.
