Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Java Architect to design, govern, and evolve enterprise-scale applications built on the Java ecosystem, primarily using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
The role requires strong architectural thinking, deep Java expertise, and the ability to guide multiple delivery teams while aligning technology decisions with business outcomes.
The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority, mentor senior engineers, and partner closely with Solution/Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design

Define application and integration architectures using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related ecosystem technologies Design solutions using modular monolith or microservices architectures, based on business and scalability needs Establish architectural principles, standards, and guardrails Drive non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability Review and approve High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) artifacts


Technical Leadership

Serve as the technical escalation point for complex architectural and engineering challenges Mentor senior developers, technical leads, and architects Lead architecture and design review forums Influence and enforce best practices in:

SOLID principles
Clean Architecture / Hexagonal Architecture Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Ensure effective API design, documentation, and versioning strategies Development & Code Quality Provide hands-on guidance in:
Spring Boot REST APIs (Spring MVC / WebFlux) Java best practices, concurrency, and memory management Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, JDBC, and SQL optimization Define and enforce coding standards and code review checklists Ensure secure coding practices and remediation of vulnerabilities (e.g., SAST & DAST findings)


Performance, Scalability & Reliability

Design systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and resiliency Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers Recommend and implement caching strategies (Redis, in-memory), concurrency controls, and async/non-blocking patterns Drive observability through logging, metrics, and distributed tracing


DevOps

Design and govern CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps teams Support containerized and cloud-native deployments (Docker / Kubernetes)


Governance & Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, and Security teams Translate architectural decisions into business impact (cost, risk, time-to-market, scalability) Participate in architecture review boards and technology governance forums Support presales activities, estimations, and technical proposals when required


Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills

Strong experience with Java (preferably Java 11+) and Spring Boot API design and implementation using RESTful services Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, SQL, and RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.) Solid understanding of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT) Experience with event-driven and integration patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, pub/sub) Logging & monitoring using frameworks such as SLF4J/Logback, Micrometer, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry


Architectural Knowledge

Monolith vs Modular Monolith vs Microservices architectures Distributed systems challenges: latency, retries, idempotency, and eventual consistency Transaction management and Saga / orchestration patterns API versioning and backward-compatibility strategies Security, compliance, and data-protection considerations


Soft & Leadership Skills

Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities Ability to challenge requirements constructively and propose better architectural alternatives Experience guiding multiple teams without micromanagement Structured thinking and strong problem-solving mindset

Stable, scalable, and maintainable system architecture Reduced production incidents and performance issues High code quality and consistency across teams Faster developer onboarding through clear architectural standards Positive feedback from stakeholders and delivery teams
