This is a 6 month contract role with a possibility of extension.

The Business Analyst, Operational Excellence plays a key role within IMCO’s Operational Excellence function by documenting current processes, assessing performance issues, implementing minor improvements alongside multiple teams, and making recommendations for further enhancements to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and various stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities that support IMCO’s goals. This role involves mapping document workflows (e.g., through Nintex), spotting ways to increase efficiency, and contributing to the development of future process designs.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:

Business Process Optimization

  • Participate in discovery sessions and problem‑solving workshops with cross‑functional teams.

  • Identify process bottlenecks, potential risks, and control gaps, and provide succinct, structured summaries of findings to support operational excellence.

  • Contribute to redesigns that reduce waste and enhance quality.

Process Mapping and Documentation

  • Create end-to-end process maps and value stream maps to document current-state workflows.

  • Maintain clear, standardized process documentation and guidelines to ensure uniformity across the Operational Excellence function.

Process Improvement and Implementation

  • Coordinate/Participate in process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Evaluate results of pilot programmes to determine effectiveness and impact.

  • Document key learnings and outcomes from engagements for continuous improvement.

  • Share findings with relevant stakeholders and incorporate feedback into future processes.

  • Monitor user adoption, gather stakeholder feedback, and support an ongoing feedback loop to inform continuous improvements.

Technology and Data Solutions

  • Use IMCO tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Nintex) to streamline documentation and collaboration.

  • Partner with Technology & Data to explore automation opportunities in targeted workflows.

Training and Continuous Improvement

  • Provide support for the implementation of Nintex, a process manager tool within IMCO.

  • Assist in rolling out new process mapping standards.

  • Contribute to change management efforts and adoption of standardized practices.

  • Assist in establishing recommendations for ongoing improvement and governance.

  • Contribute to training materials and job aids that enable consistent process execution.

  • Help maintain a centralized repository of tools, templates, and training content.

Business Analysis

  • Gather and document business requirements aligned with future state processes.

                                              

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2–4 years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, or operations.

  • Working knowledge of process mapping, workflow design, and root cause analysis (Lean, Kaizen, Kanban).

  • Proficiency in using Power BI to develop interactive dashboards for data visualization and reporting.

  • Ability to analyze data to generate actionable insights (Excel/Power BI basics an asset).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating discussions.

  • Collaborative mindset with stakeholder management skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

The base salary range for this position is CAD $80,000.00 - $110,000.00. The placement within the range is determined by the range of market pay for the specific position, as well as the candidate's knowledge, skillset and experience relative to the requirements of the position and to internal peers.
