$145,000.00/Yr. - $200,000.00/Yr.

Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

Manage respective area of accounting and finance to support CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and Chief Investment Officer in oversight of accounting and finance functions related to operations, reporting, risk management, investment decisions, and internal & external reporting. Maintains an enhanced level of expertise in 1-2 areas and considered an SME with the ability to provide strategic leadership for respective areas.

About This Role:

Axos Bank is seeking a dynamic VP, Manager or Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance to lead critical accounting and finance functions. This role partners with executive leadership to ensure financial integrity, drive strategic decision-making, and deliver operational excellence. You will oversee accounting operations, risk management, investment analysis, and regulatory compliance while championing process innovation and team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in specialized areas of accounting and finance, providing guidance to senior leadership
  • Financial Analysis: Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of financial data to evaluate performance and inform strategic decisions
  • Reporting & Compliance: Direct month-end and year-end close processes, maintain SOX documentation, and design robust internal controls
  • Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Audit & Policy Management: Manage internal and external audit requests and ensure compliance with company policies and interpretations
  • Regulatory Support: Develop models and estimates for fair value assessments and other regulatory requirements
  • Management Reporting: Drive internal reporting initiatives, including transfer pricing, cost allocation, and intercompany settlements
  • Process Innovation: Lead projects such as system implementations, process reengineering, and model development to enhance efficiency
  • Executive Communication: Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations for senior management and the Board

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; equipment finance lease accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving organizational change
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
