Head of Product Design (UI/UX)

Location: McLean, Virginia / Richmond, Virginia / Tyson’s Corner

As part of the Product Design team at Exiger, your role will define and elevate the user experience across all products, helping deliver best-in-class solutions. As the Head of UI/UX, reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will establish a vision for our UX strategy, lead design efforts, and build a world-class design team. You will collaborate across the organization and with customers to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and visual appeal. You will drive user-centered design processes, establish design consistency, and mentor your team to achieve product excellence.

To be successful, this individual must collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across product management, software engineering, data science, infrastructure, business, innovation, and pre-sales functions within Exiger, while managing competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the UI/UX design strategy across all Exiger products, ensuring a cohesive, user-friendly experience.
  • Build and manage the design roadmap in collaboration with product and technical teams, including engineering, product management, and data science.
  • Guide initiatives through research, ideation, design, user testing, and final product release.
  • Conduct UX research and testing to validate product decisions and inform design improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent design system to ensure uniformity across all Exiger platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and clarify complex project requirements and objectives.
  • Build and lead a team of designers, mentoring them and promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Balance multiple design projects, manage priorities, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Present design solutions to stakeholders and senior leadership, communicating UX strategies and product goals clearly.
  • Track and monitor design progress using dashboards, ensuring alignment with business and customer needs.
  • Provide feedback and oversight on product design and usability to ensure the highest quality.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Expertise in modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, and Pendo.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering UX designs for SaaS products in agile environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong data-driven mindset, with the ability to extract and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
  • Attentive to details, highly organized, and able to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Bonus points:
    • Experience leading design for B2B SaaS platforms
    • Experience with front-end technologies and design hand-off
