Northrop Grumman’s Law Department is seeking a Corporate Counsel for its litigation group at the Company’s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. The Corporate Counsel will focus on disputes involving the Company’s government contracts, including bid protests, claims and REAs, and matters involving DCMA, DCAA, or other federal agencies.  The Corporate Counsel also may work as needed on investigations or commercial disputes.

 Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Working with and managing external lawyers and services providers 
  • Developing and implementing legal strategies and managing the Company’s actions regarding potential disputes and matters in litigation
  • Collaborating across all parts of the business to provide effective legal advice to the Company 
  • Briefing senior management on disputes or matters involving a significant legal exposure or risk to the Company 
  • Developing and managing legal budgets

In order to be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following skills and abilities:

  •  Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, risk assessment and negotiation skills

  • Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities 

Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Ability to become a member of the Virginia Bar or licensed Virginia corporate counsel
  • At least eight years of litigation and government contracts experience, with more experience preferred 
  • Experience litigating government contract matters
  • Proven litigation experience and expertise as a litigation strategist 
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant bid protest experience
  • Experience supporting clients in the defense and/or intelligence communities 
  • Experience litigating against or on behalf of the federal government 

Salary Range: $221,600.00 - $318,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
