Position Summary

Do you thrive on data, optimization, and impact? As our Performance & Optimization Team Lead, you bring strategy, insight, and leadership together to continuously improve performance across channels and customer journeys. You work closely with specialists and cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable insights and drive measurable growth across the full online funnel.

Role and Responsibilities

How do you make a difference

This role has been created following a reorganization of the eStore team, during which several activities were centralized. As a result, the department structure and responsibilities have evolved to strengthen performance-driven, data-led growth across the online funnel.

As Performance & Optimization Team Lead, you drive continuous improvement across the full customer journey together with a team of specialists. You are responsible for monitoring and interpreting performance across the funnel, identifying performance shifts early, uncovering underlying drivers, and guiding the prioritization of optimization initiatives across channels.

You work closely with the Data, Online Marketing, and Go-To-Market teams to ensure insights are translated into measurable, data-driven improvements across all eStore activities. In this role, you lead and coach specialists in SEO & GenAI, experimentation & personalization, daily performance monitoring, and customer journey optimization, ensuring all disciplines operate in an integrated, insight-led way with a strong focus on performance impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Strategy & Optimization - Define, own, and execute a continuous optimization roadmap across traffic, engagement, and conversion levers.
  • Team Leadership & Enablement - Lead and coach a team of four specialists, fostering collaboration, clear prioritization, and a strong performance culture driven by data and impact.
  • Performance Monitoring & Insight Generation - Provide early visibility into performance trends and shifts across the funnel, identify root causes, and translate insights into actionable optimization opportunities.
  • Insight Communication & Execution - Clearly communicate insights, recommendations, and priorities to relevant stakeholders and actively drive follow-through on agreed actions.

Your Team

As our Performance & Optimization Team Lead, you are part of the E-store Online Marketing organization (23 professionals), structured into four teams — Go-to-Market, Online Marketing, Performance & Optimization, and Online Execution — all working together to drive digital growth. In this hands-on role, you combine strategic ownership with execution, lead a small team of four specialists, and report to the Online Marketing Manager while collaborating closely with the other domain managers.

What you bring

For the role of Performance & Optimization Team Lead, we are looking for a strategic and analytical professional who is motivated by measurable impact and continuous improvement. You feel at home at the intersection of data, technology, and business, and you enjoy turning complex insights into clear, actionable opportunities across the funnel.

You naturally recognize patterns and performance drivers in data, helping you anticipate shifts and uncover optimization potential. With a structured and persuasive communication style, you build trust and create shared ownership for performance outcomes. You also bring a strong foundation in digital performance disciplines.

We also request:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, of which a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role, in a performance, optimization, or growth-focused role within a digital or e-commerce environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating cross-functional optimization initiatives or teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence decision-making at multiple levels
  • Professional proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written
