Summary:

By securing new business opportunities for World Courier, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients, it requires collaborative, innovative and customer focus. The Business Development manager is the key contact person for customers especially for key accounts..

Responsibilities:

  • To secure new business opportunities for World Courier, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients. Key contact person for customers ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and the coordination of activities to meet service level standards agreed upon. The executive must at all the time, maintain the highest service level.

  • To manage all existing and potential World Courier customers in South Korea and its immediate surrounding regions.

  • To service all World Courier customers effectively and identify and secure Up-selling and Cross-selling opportunities.

  • To qualify all internal and external lead sources.

  • To quantify revenue potential and validate customer information and needs through using the selection criteria (Needs Analysis Form) to produce quality leads and accounts to ensure World Courier achieves quotations and closure for customers.

  • To meet set call targets according to customer call cycle plan, which is reviewed yearly and updated monthly.

  • Monitor and review the existing network capability, with all aspects including agents, suppliers, truckers & airlines, to achieve cost effective and high quality service.

  • Develop new agents & suppliers to ensure strengthened domestic network, infrastructure & coverage. Continuous improvements in service solutions & quality.

  • To ensure that lead originators are acknowledged and provided with feedback on the outcome of the lead.

  • Create & implement strategies and plans to develop domestic Ops capabilities.

  • Provide trainings to agents, suppliers and staff to ensure smooth running of daily operations and compliance with standard operations procedures.

  • To coordinate and manage Direct Marketing programs and ensure appropriate follow up.

  • To provide marketing and sales support to National Business Development Manager.

  • To participate in tradeshows/exhibitions.

  • To avoid exposing the company to unnecessary credit risk.

  • To provide customer-oriented service at all times relating to specific sales issues.

  • To answer all telephone enquiries as per World Courier standards.

  • To report competitor activities to the National Business Development Manager/General Manager.

  • To investigate and resolve customer issues and complaints.

  • To proactively inform customers of any service failure and relevant operational service changes timely, and the alternative actions taken.

  • To liaise proactively and effectively with Operations/back-office/support staff to ensure a high standard of customer service.

  • To use the pipeline management tool and Customer Relationship Management system and ensure that business from new and existing customers are successfully negotiated in a timely manner.

  • To prepare weekly and monthly reports for the National Business Development Manager.

Education:

  • Preferably tertiary education with minimum 3 years' sales experience in related air-express industry preferred.

Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of distribution and logistics concepts.

  • Commercial and Customer focus.

  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong English and Korean (written and spoken) comprehension and communication is essential.
