Our Technical Services Inspection Team at our Syncrude Mildred Lake site is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Assurance Inspector. If you are experienced in Quality Assurance, this may be an opportunity for you!

Minimum Requirements:

  • API 510

  • Five years of experience conducting Inspections, NDE, QA activities, monitoring welding/fabrication/repair/alteration and new construction of pressure and process equipment.

  • Functional understanding of Alberta Regulatory requirements, CSA code requirements and ASME, API, NBIC, NACE Codes, Standards, and recommended practices.

  • A Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Welding or equivalent education with and experience in a petrochemical or refining operation is considered an asset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of the Integrity Management System, including but not limited to:

    • Equipment inspections and assessments

    • Compliance Management

    • Database management and analytics

    • In-service Inspection and servicing program support

    • Technical Inspection scope development

    • Support equipment Repairs and Alterations

    • Provide clear, detailed, comprehensive documentation.

  • Interdepartmental collaboration to provide safe, effective, and efficient results.

  • Capture weekly field hazards to effectively manage field safety workplace Hazards.

  • Maintain communication and collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups.

  • Focus on identifying equipment condition, assist in determining failure modes and effects, root cause, and assist engineering in defining corrective actions.

  • Maintain detailed equipment inspection records.

  • Participate in incident investigations for the purposes of learning, prevention, and continuous improvement.

  • Recommend inspection technology to improve inspection effectiveness.

 Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours or on-call duties, based on business needs

  • This position is safety sensitive

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided.
