Description:

Caterpillar Skinningrove Ltd. operates on a 24/7 basis. The Maintenance Technician will be available respond to day to day issues within the facility and to complete PPMs as appropriate on their designated shift.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule, carrying out planned maintenance as required
  • Respond to machine breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Manage all PPM and breakdowns in Agility system, reporting updates as required
  • Installation of plant equipment as required
  • Fault finding on electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
  • Develop and maintain the facility availability and uptime using fault analysis through pareto analysis and condition monitoring
  • Route cause machine failure and implement corrective actions across multiple disciplines
  • Provide expertise for troubleshooting and assistance to other issues
  • Ensure deliverables meet all quality and compliance standards
  • Participate in identifying areas of continuous improvement, focussing on cost and velocity and implementing necessary changes where appropriate
  • Manage specific projects within the areas of responsibility
  • Machine calibration as required
  • Work closely with Operations team to identify areas of concern and equipment availability
  • Maintain detailed shift handover that ensures smooth transition between shifts
  • Work at heights using relevant safety equipment and PPE
  • Use measuring equipment including insulation meters, verniers, micro meters, multi meters and power supplies
  • Use of lifting equipment
  • Liaise with external suppliers, buyers and service providers, working off site on their premises as required
  • Maintain a pro-active approach to health and safety
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by Management

Qualifications/Training Required:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, Time served Maintenance Apprentice
  • Latest I.E.E 17th/18th Edition preferable

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role with electrical bias in a busy manufacturing environment essential
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical/mechanical schematics and PLC ladder listings
  • Ability to operate PLC, Electrical/Electronic & CNC systems, fault finding & diagnostics
  • Ability to use a range of power and hand tools
  • Knowledge and proficient use of IT systems

Desired Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Hydraulic and mechanical experience
  • Experience of ABB Robots
  • Truck driving licence (reach, counter balance, Jib)
