This is a hybrid role based out of our Headquarters office in Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days a week. 

ABOUT THE POSITION  

As a Brand Marketing team, we focus on our consumers’ behavior, and create experiences to build their connection to our brand. Whether it’s media strategy, brand/product storytelling, content creation or partner activations, the consumer is at the heart of everything we do. As a Senior Media Specialist you will recommend, influence, and implement paid media strategies that position Columbia as the leading outdoor brand.  You will be relied on to support seasonal initiatives, increase relevance with Columbia’s target consumers, and ultimately drive sales.  

Within this role you will define, socialize, and influence the function of paid media within Columbia’s marketing mix.  Here you’ll demonstrate in-depth knowledge of all paid media tactics across traditional and digital channels, and expertise in paid media, social trends, and cultural zeitgeist moments.  You’ll use this knowledge to develop a point of view and influence senior leadership on how Columbia participates in the conversation. You'll be responsible for guiding mature processes and KPIs to promote consumer engagement. 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE  

  • Understand Columbia’s brand, US region, seasonal strategy, and the role of paid media across the marketing mix to collaborate on the development of seasonal and annual paid media plans, mapping back to key marketing objectives 
  • Serve as one of the company’s paid media marketing experts: must be comfortable presenting and explaining media strategies and tools to broader audiences 
  • Manage campaign flighting and budget trackers across multiple campaigns. 
  • Understand how to execute campaigns across the funnel and their respective measurement strategies, e.g., Awareness, Consideration and Conversion. 
  • Strategize with internal teams and agency partners to develop, execute, and sustain successful paid media campaigns 
  • Monitor industry and competitive landscape, communicating industry news and trends to marketing team and senior management while staying abreast of emerging paid media and content marketing trends  

YOU ARE  

  • Collaborative and great at building relationships with both internal and external partners 
  • Analytical, comfortable with analyzing reports and gleaning insights that can be translated to action items  
  • Comfortable reviewing and providing creative feedback and having a creative POV 
  • Organized, able to manage and execute on multiple projects moving at the same time 
  • Strategic, creating and managing media campaigns
  • Communication and presentation savvy,  able to clearly communicate and distill complex plans and strategies to executive level and able to share those internally + externally with confidence  

YOU HAVE  

  • Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of professional experience and mastery of marketing and media tactics
  • Applied experience managing and planning Paid Media campaigns (Display, Partnerships, Social, CTV, TV, OOH, Experiential preferred)
  • Experience in the Apparel and Footwear industry a plus but not required
