About the Role & Program
ESPN Production Operations is responsible for overseeing and driving the day-to-day operations, personnel and technical management of SEC Network studio productions and REMI events in Charlotte, NC. Production Operations ensures that personnel are crewed for Studio and REMI events in each area of PCR, Studio, Media, Audio and Central Record. We work closely with Production, Engineering, and Studio Directing to ensure proper needs for each show and help coordinate any technical requests.
The dates of this internship are June 1st through August 7, 2026.
What You Will Do
Throughout the internship, you will be able to observe various technical duties as it relates to SEC Network and REMI events. This individual is expected to acquire basic knowledge of each technical position and how these positions equally contribute to a production. Responsibilities include:
Operating and supporting a variety of studio equipment, including cameras and media playout systems, under supervision
Assisting with special summer projects and production initiatives as assigned
Attending technical and managerial meetings to gain exposure to studio operations, workflows, and best practices
Developing a working knowledge of technical equipment and production systems used in live and live-to-tape environments
Communicating technical issues clearly and effectively, escalating concerns to appropriate team members
Required Qualifications & Skills
Exposure to broadcast technical equipment, with the ability to learn and support studio systems under supervision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear, professional voice and email communication
Proficiency in Windows-based PC applications, with the ability to quickly learn internal tools and systems
Flexible availability, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and varied production schedules as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Campus or previous internship experience working in Technical Operations
Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Sports Media, Communications or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available to work different shifts for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
A limited amount of housing assistance will be provided for those who are eligible
