About the Role
Provide quality and timely support of the Group’s financial reporting functions (such as day to day accounting function, financial statements preparation and provide support to local business divisions on financial reporting related tasks) in accordance to AIA Group accounting policies and its related regulations.
- Lead the team to perform review and consolidate submissions from local business units for various external and internal reporting requirements
- Ensure all required financial reporting and analysis are provided to Group Office timely, accurately,
- Ensure information received from the local business units aligns with Group standards
- Support the Group financial reporting and analysis matters timely and satisfactory response on all queries to enable business decisions.
- Support and coordinate with various departments in rolling out activities like development, design, and implementation in relation to preparation of templates and financial statements to improve current processes and overall efficiency of the team.
- Develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders.
- Responsible to update Business Process Manuals, Control Checklist, Roles and Responsibilities Document and Training Materials as and when new improvement identified, implemented and communicated, and at least on an annual basis.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and support to team members in performing their tasks.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet financial reporting and/or other requirements.
- Support the Senior Manager in resource planning, including budgeting and monitoring, recruitment and training, employee engagement and development, performance reviews and appraisals, and succession planning.
- Encourage team members to stay updated on IFRS and/or Regulatory developments
Job requirements:
- Degree holder in Accountancy with professional qualification in ACCA or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience gained within a multinational environment with regional exposure and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm
- 4 + years of supervisory or management experience in the above position
