Comment vous créerez un impact

  • Évaluer, hiérarchiser et sélectionner les propositions à souscrire.

  • Réaliser des examens stratégiques de comptes clients et préparer la documentation associée aux dossiers.

  • Respecter les lignes directrices et les principes de souscription.

  • Aider la direction à mettre en œuvre des initiatives stratégiques de centres de profit et fournir un soutien technique en matière de souscription et de marketing dans le cadre d’autres projets.

  • Aider le directeur régional et les leaders en produits à renforcer les relations actuelles avec les courtiers et à en établir de nouvelles.

  • Collaborer avec le service de distribution, les gestionnaires de territoire et d’autres secteurs d’activité afin de cibler les possibilités de développement commercial.

  • Travailler avec la direction, les courtiers, les clients et les conseillers juridiques externes sur la structure du marché, ainsi que les modalités et conditions du contrat dans le cadre d’un portefeuille de risques plus complexes.

  • Représenter AIG auprès des clients et des courtiers.

  • Contribuer au perfectionnement du personnel moins expérimenté.

  • Participer à des projets spéciaux de souscription, au besoin.

  • Fournir un service à la clientèle de qualité supérieure aux courtiers et aux clients (internes et externes).

Ce que nous recherchons

  • Doit posséder une compréhension de l’assurance transport maritime en eaux intérieures et des risques connexes, y compris les principes fondamentaux relatifs aux tendances en matière de sinistres, aux triangles de sinistres, à l’établissement de taux, etc.

  • Doit faire preuve de souci du détail, posséder des capacités d’analyse et de réflexion critique, prendre des décisions en fonction de son niveau d’autorité et savoir résoudre les problèmes.

  • Doit fonctionner efficacement dans un environnement dynamique et être adaptable, à l’aise avec l’incertitude, capable de travailler à un rythme soutenu et de dresser l’ordre de priorité de tâches multiples.

  • Doit posséder de solides aptitudes de communication (écrite et orale), de collaboration et d’instauration d’un climat de confiance avec un large éventail de collègues et de clients.

  • Doit posséder une bonne compréhension des questions financières, être désireux d’en apprendre davantage sur le domaine de l’assurance et de la négociation et être axé sur l’établissement d’affaires rentables.

  • Doit posséder un minimum d’un an d’expérience professionnelle pertinente, de préférence au sein d’une compagnie, d’une agence ou d’un cabinet de courtiers d’assurance commerciale.

  • Doit posséder un baccalauréat d’un collège ou d’une université offrant des programmes de quatre ans, de préférence.

Bilingue Underwriter - Inland Marine

This Underwriter role will be an ideal next step in your career if you already have some relevant experience in insurance – or this could be your entry into underwriting if you have transferable skills.

AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

The Underwriter will contribute to the growth of the business by underwriting Inland Marine products under general direction, issuing quotes and policies while ensuring standards and compliance guidelines are met.  Responsible for underwriting large accounts and complex and building relationships with clients and brokers.

What you need to know:

  • Evaluating, prioritizing and selecting submissions to be underwritten

  • Delivering strategic account reviews and preparing associated file documentation

  • Adhering to underwriting guidelines and discipline

  • Assisting management with the implementation of profit center strategic initiatives and providing technical underwriting and marketing support on other projects

  • Assisting regional manager and product leaders in developing existing and establishing new broker relationships

  • Collaborating with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other line(s) of business to target business development opportunities.

  • Working with management, brokers, clients, and outside counsel on deal structure, contract terms and conditions on a portfolio of more complex risks

  • Representing AIG at client and broker functions

  • Contributing to the development of less experienced staff

  • Participating in special underwriting projects as needed

  • Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal & external)

What we are looking for:

  • Understanding of Inland Marine Insurance and associated risks including fundamentals of loss trends, loss triangles, and ratemaking etc.

  • Must be detail-oriented, possess analytical and critical thinking skills, decision making based on level of authority, problem solving

  • Effective in dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, working at pace and prioritizing multiple tasks

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), collaboration, building trust with wide range of colleagues and clients

  • Needs to have a financial understanding, appetite for learning about the industry, negotiating and focused on profitable business

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience; Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred
