The HR Intern will provide day-to-day HR administrative and HRIS support for the EMEA based employees. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of an HR career who is keen to develop strong foundations in HR operations, systems, and data accuracy.
The role offers hands-on exposure to core HR processes, employee lifecycle administration, and HR information systems, while working closely with the UK HR team.
We are looking for someone with a curious nature and has demonstratable experience of applying AI methods to streamline processes.
As part of this role, the HR Intern will play a key part in promoting Cadence’s internal brand along with developing the Cadence culture within our UK sites.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Provide administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, and leavers
- Prepare and issue standard HR correspondence, including contracts, offer documentation, and confirmation letters
- Coordinate and distribute new starter welcome communications
- Maintain accurate employee records, both electronically and (where required) in paper files
- Support benefits administration and respond to routine employee queries, escalating when appropriate
- Ensure all HR documentation is processed in line with internal policies and data protection requirements
HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data within the HRIS
- Support data entry, audits, and regular checks to ensure system accuracy
- Assist with HRIS reporting by extracting basic data for the HR team
- Support HRIS-related process improvements and documentation
- Act as a first point of contact for basic HRIS queries from employees and managers
Policy, Procedures and Processes
- Support the documentation and updating of HR processes and procedures
- Assist with maintaining HR policies and intranet content as required
Recruitment
- Assist HR Representative and Sr Recruiter with recruitment activities when required, including:
- Circulating CVs to hiring managers and gaining feedback
- Liaising with candidates and respond as appropriate
- Arranging interviews
- Sending out and collecting all required information from New Starters for contracts.
- Liaise with HR Director, HR Representative and Recruiter to ensure contracts are created in a timely manner.
- Monitor return of completed contracts and forms and follow up when required.
Training
- Support relevant internal training programmes, including:
- Liaising with training providers to set dates for internal training sessions
- Invite attendees to sessions
- Arrange meeting rooms, hotel accommodation and taxi transfers where appropriate
- Send out follow up training surveys to evaluate training sessions, monitor feedback and highlight any issues following feedback
- Create training list for the Learning Management Systems and ensure this is uploaded.
- Ensure continuous log of training throughout the year to be available for CSR report in Q1.
Other Duties
- Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the HR team on projects and initiatives
- Support the preparation of simple reports, trackers, and logs
- Assist with updating or creating job descriptions when required
- Any other ad hoc duties as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Studying towards, or recently completed, an HR qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 3 or equivalent)
- Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proactive, reliable, and keen to learn
Desirable
- Previous administrative experience (in a fast paced envirorment HR or office-based preferred)
- Interest in HR systems, data, or process improvement
- Curiosity about how technology or AI can improve administrative processes
