Neogen Corporation is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for customers by responding to inquiries, processing orders, and resolving issues related to billing, shipments, and product support. You will also play a critical role in maintaining order accuracy and supporting cross-functional processes to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

This role follows an onsite model to accommodate business needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound customer calls regarding orders, product information, billing inquiries, complaints, and credit requests.

  • Enter and process customer orders accurately while providing excellent service.

  • Track shipments and assist customers with delivery updates.

  • Confirm pricing discrepancies with Sales and the Customer Service Manager.

  • Calculate freight charges and coordinate service upgrades when needed.

  • Document customer complaints and coordinate resolutions appropriately.

  • Enter new customer records into the Solomon system.

  • Serve as backup for the Order Flow Coordinator by confirming shipped orders, including quantities, lot numbers, and backorders.

  • Verify availability and accuracy of lot numbers and ensure customer dating requirements are met.

  • Assist with export documentation such as NAFTA forms, as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and organized files of open orders by sales order number.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Animal Science, or a related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service or a comparable role strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience in order entry systems such as Solomon is a plus.
