Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse leaders at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  The BOA program provides many key capabilities to the Missile Defense Agency to include advanced OPIR tracking capability, ground test support, and key modeling and simulation capabilities.  The engineering manager is responsible for supervising a team of engineers, hiring engineers, and performance evaluation. In this role you will work closely with BOA program management, BOA sustainment, and the Boulder MDS management team to effectively manage a team of 6 to 12 engineers.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Ensure engineering team has necessary resources and equipment to perform job
  • Provide regular employee engagement such as regular 1:1s, and career development
  • Work with program stakeholders to understand program engineering needs and perform hiring responsibilities in accordance with needs
  • Support BOA Sustainment team
  • Ensure program engineering processes are executed in accordance with program value streams
  • Position will require up to 10% travel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field; 3 years' experience with a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree .
  • Experience with technical or computer systems (Linux preferred).
  • Experience managing small to medium sized technical teams.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools to include Continuous Integration and Unit Test frameworks.
  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must have a DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret with SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency Ballistic Missile Defense System.
  • Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared.
  • Familiarity with missile trajectory and modeling and simulation products.
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense System Architecture and Mission.
  • Linux System Administration
  • Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and Poly Graph
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Program Management Professional.

Salary Range: $118,100.00 - $177,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
