Business Performance Manager, Representation in Clinical Research (RISE), Global Public Health
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will:
- In partnership with RISE Business Performance Director, manage the development and execution of RISE strategy and goals, and plan and oversee delivery of KPIs, metrics and other business outcomes
- Provide project management and multi-faceted support to RISE projects that advance RISE strategy, performance and capabilities
- Support and lead daily tasks in alignment with RISE mission, vision and objectives
- Organize, support, and manage team meetings and cross functional workstream sessions and workshops (agenda, minutes, pre-reads, logistics, etc.)
- Support and lead (where applicable) projects that support inclusive research principles including Diversity Action Plan (DAP) dashboard development and dissemination
- Lead RISE Summer Internship program including job description development, requisition posting, recruitment/onboarding, interview facilitation and onsite planning/execution and direct line management
- Manage RISE information sharing and communication platforms (i.e. SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.) to ensure efficient information sharing, analysis and archiving
- Coordinate and support internal and external engagements with key stakeholders, including meeting scheduling and facilitation, data analysis, documentation, follow-up, and Confidentially Disclosure Agreement (CDA) coordination as applicable
- Support the development of RISE internal and external communication plans to communicate the value and impact (including presentations, documents, reports, intranet content, social media content, newsletters, videos, and others)
- Lead the development and review/approval of internal/external creative assets
- Liaise with relevant project teams to manage RISE processes, to advance alignment, and to ensure deliverables are met
- Provide budget management support including SOW and PO processing and tracking of invoices and payments
- Support effective decision making within the team, including communication of decisions to appropriate stakeholders
- Interact broadly across the functions/sub-functions within the broader Research & Development Organization including ATMOS, OCMO, GPH, and cross-functionally with other organizations across Amgen (including but not limited to Global Development Operations, Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DI&B)), to build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships to implement key deliverables, support critical initiatives and implementation activities
- Support internal/external stakeholder collaboration in assessing and establishing fit for purpose collaborations in alignment with business objectives
- Participate in conferences and speaking engagements, as applicable
- Participate in legislative discussions in collaboration with Government Affairs, as applicable
- Maintain an active role within the RISE Strategic team to ensure business performance and operations are on track and risks are escalated appropriate
- 10% travel

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree Or
- Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience Or
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience Or
- Associate’s degree and 8years of related experience Or
- High school diploma / GED and 10 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years of work experience in a life sciences company or a health-related field
- 2 years of project management/coordination experience
- 2 years of community service or volunteer experience
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, clinical trial design and clinical research operations principles
- Working knowledge of inclusive research principles
- Strong interest in public health, community health, social sciences, health equity, health policy, health communications, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and/or related fields
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comfortable using complex systems and managing data
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Proficiency/Working proficiency in Microsoft: Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet
- Web/video-based meeting experience
- Operations experience within a matrixed company and on a team with geographically-dispersed members working in varied structures (in-person, remote, hybrid)
- Familiarity with SOPs, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Experience with meeting logistics and management
- Strong understanding of systemic issues that deter people from participating in research, especially those who have been historically excluded due to race, ethnicity, sex, age, and other factors.
- Working knowledge of facilitating Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements and contracts

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
