Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Financial Analyst-Costing & Inventory to support our global standard cost processes and ensure appropriate valuation of global inventories.  This role will contribute to the understanding of company profitability via standards and variances as well as improving recognition of cost elements within product cost.  The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver who can identify and share the drivers of cost change with business partners.

Key Responsibilities

Standard Cost Management:

  • Set Up New Part Costs within SAP

  • Support/execute the annual cost roll process

  • Provide Analysis of Change related to material and overhead cost structures

  • Support the efforts to transition to an “in house manufacturing” costing structure

  • Support product cost comparisons and cost modeling exercises for the business.

Cost Accounting:

  • Review and Analyze variances to standard costs in support of the Capitalized Variance (FIFO) process

  • Prepare and Reconcile Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reserve on a quarterly basis.

  • Review End of Life Inventory and other specific reserves

  • Process and reconcile global accruals for items like freight, tariffs, or other non-plant specific expenses

  • Ensure proper recognition of absorption from closed work orders in the system.

Controls Environment:

  • Provide SOX and Auditor support related to inventory balances and transactions

  • Support the consolidation of cycle count activity and performance across locations

  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and related accounts

  • Available to support annual physical inventories at 3rd party locations, as required

  • Support month end cut-off procedures for month end close

Business Partnering:

  • Modeling of future changes to the FIFO or E&O balance for budgeting purposes

  • Ad Hoc analysis of spending elements for comparability across sites

  • Working with locations to identify and isolate required period costs (excluded from FIFO adjustment)

  • Recommend cost improvement opportunities across locations or product lines

  • Advocate for a universal understanding of standard costing across the organization

  • Actively participate in teambuilding events and activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (CPA/CMA/MBA preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, standard costing, and inventory accounting
  • Proficient in ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus
  • Advanced Excel and other data analysis tools and strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Proven ability manage multiple projects and priorities across varying period of time

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $80,100.00 - $120,150.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
