Space Systems has an opening for an Electrical Test Conductor/Principal Test Conductor (Level 2/3) to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals within the Integration, Test, and Launch directorate. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Our Spacecraft Operations team is responsible for the assembly, test, and launch of a wide variety of spacecraft and payloads.

Responsibilities of this position include:
Handling delicate flight hardware using proper ESD and contamination control best practices.
Performs mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents.
Performs space flight torque, wire and harness routing, alignments, RF cable installation and bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on complex structures and assemblies. Collaborating with all stakeholders for tasks. Provide feedback to manufacturing engineers and designers on producibility enhancements.
Setup and operation of an overhead crane and/or forklift to support moving flight hardware through the lab and into test chambers
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development, assembly and integration of Space Vehicle mechanical and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Participates in the development of sub-system and system test methodology. Assists with setting up and tests complete prototype and flight units and sub-assemblies under operational conditions.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications (Level 2):
Active TS/SCI Clearance required at time of application
Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of technical/military experience, OR Associate of Science degree AND 4 years of related technical/military experience OR High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 6 years of combined technical experience
Familiarity with technical specifications, processes, and schematic comprehension in support of electrical subsystem and system level testing and launch of flight hardware components.
Must be able to support weekends, 2nd, 3rd shift, and off hours as dictated by program activities
Proficiency/Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to travel and support all offsite mission critical milestones.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years’ direct experience supporting spacecraft integration and test activities
Thorough knowledge of Integration and Test floor practices, policies, and procedures with a strong emphasis on personnel and hardware safety
A comprehensive understanding of Clean Room requirements, Hazardous Operations protocols, and related high bay operational protocols
Hands-on knowledge and experience working with advanced spacecrafts and technology, performing subsystem and system level testing throughout the Integration, Test, and Launch life cycle, including experience directing test-execution activities of flight hardware.
Experience directing test-execution activities of flight hardware
Ability to review and provide feedback on integration procedures/test scripts and drawings prior to execution on the floor
The skillset to proactively identify issues and determine the appropriate channels to escalate and collaborate with engineering to determine a path forward
Advocates for change; promotes and adopts best practices
Creates an atmosphere of trust and respect while displaying the highest levels of integrity
