Strategy & Finance (S&F) Financial Management Chapter
The teams across the S&F Financial Management Chapter provide a wide range of financial management services that guide and empower our business. We have several key relationships supporting Telstra business operations to corporate leadership, our customers, our people and shareholders.
About the Role
- The Senior Finance Partner is designed for a high‑performing finance professional with strong leadership potential.
- You will join the Financial Management Chapter as a senior finance leader, combining deep technical and commercial expertise with the opportunity to develop leadership capability over time. While this role does not initially hold formal people leadership accountability, it provides a clear pathway into a people‑leader role as capability, readiness and business need align.
Key focus areas include:
- Delivering high‑quality financial management, analysis and insight to support Telstra’s strategic and financial objectives
- Acting as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders
- Leading through influence, collaboration and role‑modelling Telstra’s ways of working
- Building leadership capability in preparation for future people leadership responsibilities
- Important note: the role will be based in our office in Makati City, Metro Manila and will be in a HYBRID working environment.

What You’ll Do
This is how you'll bring the purpose of your role to life:
Financial & Commercial Leadership
- Deliver month-end activities, including financial analysis, forecasting and business partnering support across complex initiatives
- Provide insight into profitability, cost management, cash flow and performance drivers
- Partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to enable informed decision‑making
- Apply commercial judgement to navigate ambiguity and complexity, seeing problems as opportunities
Leadership Through Influence
- Act as a role model for collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
- Support and guide less experienced team members through informal coaching and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to capability uplift across the Financial Management Chapter through expertise and thought leadership
- Build strong, trusted relationships across finance, business and delivery teams
- Talent development and succession planning activities
- Resource and capability planning in partnership with Chapter Leads
About You
To be successful in the role, you should have:
- CPA, CMA or CA fully qualified
- Solid hands-on experience on SAP
- Experienced in the Agile Ways of Working
- Proven experience in Finance Management
- Extensive experience in Commercial Accounting and Forecasting with proven expertise in Technical and Statutory accounting
- Experience across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow (IRS15/16 knowledge is preferred)
- People Management – strong leadership skills with a genuine commitment to building capabilities
- Excellent coaching skills to develop and empower team members to deliver exceptional service by conducting regular formal and informal coaching sessions
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to details
- Proven demonstration of a growth mindset with tenacity for problem solving and willingness to seek information and appropriately challenge status quo
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills which can be applied to a range of different stakeholders, including external auditors
- Strong stakeholder management, proactive and curious, organised, keen eye for detail, continuous improvement mindset, proven ability to curate the story behind the numbers, systematic and process orientated, skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
