We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as Lean Expert at Airbus Belfast.
AOS (Airbus Operating System) is the standardised way of working to continuously improve our business performance, based on lean principles. AOS secures the alignment between the objectives and the day to day activities of the teams at every level of the organisation.
The Lean/AOS Expert contributes directly to the AOS standards definition and deployment, and provides guidance to the site management teams in plants and functions on performance improvement opportunities using AOS solutions. With a deep knowledge of lean principles and a proven shop-floor experience in Manufacturing, you will address systemic operational performance issues with piloted, standardised and sustainable solutions through the Airbus Operating System (AOS).
Main Tasks
Develop and coach senior management (production and support functions) and local AOS teams
Ensure Knowledge transfer to local AOS teams
Advise on performance improvement opportunities and governance management, supporting governance / steering
Lead assessments of industrial maturity establishing recommendations based on performance improvement priorities
Facilitate, co-lead and support training development and training delivery
Facilitate, co-lead and support kaizen events in a train the trainer mode.
Support AOS digitalisation solution development
Key Skills
Degree level qualification preferred
Ability and experience to train managers, technicians and operators
Deep knowledge and experience of lean manufacturing and lean management / problem solving
Good knowledge and experience in industrial engineering, quality tools, problem solving, logistics engineering and process optimisation (APICS basic level, Six Sigma Black Belt, Kepner Tregoe or equivalent are desirable)
Experience in leading lean manufacturing workshops such as kaizen, VSM, SMED, 5S, Hoshin Kanri
Experience in operations management within a best-in-class lean environment
Coaching skills and experience with communication competences
Ability to inspire and give meaning
Aeronautical manufacturing basics
Capability to design strategies for change management, coaching, mentoring and training
English language at negotiation level, other languages would be an asset
