Part-Time Lecturer for AI in Information Management

We are seeking a part-time lecturer to teach AI-related courses in the Master of Science in Information Studies Programme. The programme bridges people, information, and technology, focusing not only on managing information and building systems, but also on understanding human needs, ensuring responsible use of technology, and transforming information into actionable insights, decisions, and innovations that drive real impact.

Relevant course topics include (but are not limited to):

  • AI Governance and Compliance for Information Organizations (Focus: AI legal frameworks/regulations, policies, accountability, transparency).
  • AI Ethics in Information Management (Focus: bias, fairness, privacy concerns, and societal impacts)
  • Human-centered Design of AI Applications (Focus: user experience)
  • Prompt Engineering for Information Professionals
  • AI in Decision Making (Focus: types of decision, AI models, AI hallucination, validation/ verification, RAG, explainable AI)
  • Sustainability of AI systems (Focus: managing and reporting the energy consumption and carbon footprints associated with AI information systems.)

The course format consists of a three-hour weekly session, including lectures, tutorials, and/or seminar discussions. The instructor will be responsible for leading sessions, planning syllabus, preparing class materials, designing and assessing assignments and tests, and providing student consultations.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Information Science, Information Studies, Information Systems, AI, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant topics.
