Roles
The HR Data Specialist role is focused on being the primary steward of employee data, ensuring its accuracy, compliance, and effective use across the organization. Key responsibilities include providing responsive support for all employee lifecycle inquiries and transactions (such as payroll, benefits, and mobility) and managing the end-to-end data lifecycle in Workday to ensure timely and accurate processing of events like hiring, transfers, and terminations. A core duty is maintaining data quality and compliance through rigorous audits, serving as a data quality checkpoint, and upholding privacy standards and regulatory requirements. The specialist is also expected to be a key driver of efficiency by optimizing systems and processes, collaborating with IT on Workday enhancements, and maintaining current process documentation. To succeed, the candidate must bring hands-on experience with an HCM system like Workday, possess exceptional attention to detail and a strong data-driven mindset, and have familiarity with data governance principles and labor laws, all while exhibiting strong communication and customer-focused interpersonal skills in a global, fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide Employee Support: Deliver professional, responsive support for employee and manager inquiries across the full lifecycle (Pay, Benefits, Leave, Mobility, Immigration, etc.).
Manage Data Lifecycle: Handle the end-to-end employee data lifecycle in Workday, accurately processing new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and policy-driven changes.
Ensure Data Quality & Compliance: Serve as a quality checkpoint for employee data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and supporting internal/regulatory reporting audits and compliance efforts.
Optimize Systems & Process: Identify and implement improvements to enhance data quality, operational efficiency, scalability, and automation of HR data processes.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with various internal stakeholders (HRBPs, Payroll, IT, Legal) and external vendors to ensure a cohesive data experience and contribute to service excellence initiatives.
HR & HCM Experience: Hands-on experience managing employee data in an HCM system like Workday (or a comparable platform).
Attention to Detail & Data Focus: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data integrity, accuracy, and a process/data-driven mindset.
Knowledge Base: Familiarity with data governance principles, compliance, privacy standards, and relevant labor laws in respective regions.
Soft Skills: Customer-focused with excellent verbal/written communication and strong interpersonal skills to build relationships.
Work Ethic: Ability to multitask, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and a team player attitude, comfortable working across time zones/globally.
