As an Infrastructure Engineer for IT M&A within the Business Technology (BT) organization, you'll play a critical role in migrating and integrating collaboration and infrastructure technologies for Salesforce acquisitions. You'll be responsible for assessing, planning, and executing technology integrations across applications, identity management, compute, storage, network, databases, endpoints, and workspace technologies. This role requires you to bring a strong point of view on integration strategies while collaborating with business, security, engineering, and operational teams to drive successful acquisitions and optimize our global corporate IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of acquisition infrastructure environments under tight deadlines, including asset inventories, service catalogs, process diagrams, architectural diagrams, ongoing projects, run rates, team structures, and skill sets

  • Assess maturity levels and criticality of technology and services to evaluate integration strategies aligned with Salesforce IT standards

  • Develop integration recommendations (migrate, integrate, decommission, or build custom solutions) including estimations on scope, complexity, cost, schedule, and risk

  • Design migration solutions that minimize business impact, cost, schedule disruptions, and ongoing support needs

  • Execute technology migrations for email, calendar, file storage, and other collaboration and infrastructure services

  • Design, operate, secure, and maintain migration tools and platforms while working with vendors to execute native migrations adhering to best practices and security standards

  • Document and present recommendations to stakeholders, manage expectations, and negotiate adherence to standards

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of integration process and technology standards across infrastructure domains

  • Identify areas requiring user training and communications throughout the integration process


Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  • 5+ years of broad IT work experience including operations, build, design, and architecture in Enterprise environments with over 4,000 users

  • Prior experience with migration projects

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies or concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and work on multiple projects simultaneously while balancing conflicting demands

  • Breadth of knowledge across various infrastructure services (apps, systems, storage, databases, network, endpoints, mobile devices, workspace technology)

  • Deep understanding of the Salesforce IT organization, services, and processes

  • Solid understanding of security theory and practice

  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations when engaging with potential acquisitions and manage highly confidential information

  • Strong documentation skills for run lists, designs, and processes

  • Excellent collaboration skills across teams of various skill levels

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions

  • Experience with the Salesforce.com application

  • Experience with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms

  • Experience with AWS and/or GCP

  • Experience with CloudMigrator

  • Experience with Google Workspace and/or O365

  • Background in Information Security

  • One or more industry certifications

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $178,900 - $246,000 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
