The Sony Pictures Entertainment Legal team is hiring a legal professional to join our corporate headquarters in Culver City, CA. This role will primarily support the Sony Pictures Consumer Products department reporting to the SVP, Business & Legal Affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate and process a high volume of merchandising licensing agreements (and related agreements, correspondence, etc.)
  • Track status of the agreements and all related matters.
  • Research and analyze legal issues (including rights analysis, content clearance, labor, etc.)
  • Management of antipiracy efforts (trademark protection, enforcement, C&Ds, etc.)
  • General problem-solving on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent drafting skills along with excellent judgment, prioritization and communication skills while interfacing with all levels of the company.
  • 8+ years of contract administrator and/or paralegal experience in a top law firm and/or in a studio/in-house entertainment legal affairs group (and experience in consumer products licensing is strongly preferred).
  • BA/BS required.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000-$142,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
